Montgomery County Schools is seeking an innovative and dedicated educator to build and develop a dynamic CTE program in one of the following areas:
- Business, Finance, and IT
- Computer Science/Programming
- Adobe/Digital Design
Qualifications:
Requirements vary based on experience. However, in general, candidates should possess:
- A 2-year or 4-year degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Digital Design, Graphic Arts, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in the relevant industry.
Candidates with appropriate degrees and experience will receive training in teaching and classroom management, as well as opportunities for professional development to obtain any additional certifications required for their program area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Student Engagement:
- Assist with student recruitment and program promotion.
- Develop and implement instructional plans that align with industry standards and prepare students for future careers.
- Foster collaboration with other secondary CTE educators to create seamless career pathways for students.
- Instruction & Classroom Management:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction tailored to students' needs, learning styles, and abilities.
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and effective learning.
- Teach fundamental workplace skills alongside job-specific competencies.
- Curriculum & Assessment:
- Assist in curriculum planning and development based on industry trends and student needs.
- Evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide timely feedback.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, instructional materials, and assessment tools.
- Technology & Equipment Management:
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Provide instruction on the proper use of tools, equipment, and technology.
- Ensure a safe and functional learning environment.
- Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with school administration, industry partners, and other educators.
- Attend professional development, conferences, and training as required.
- Serve as a resource for students, parents, and the school community regarding career opportunities in the program area.
- Compliance & Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate attendance, student records, and required reports.
- Adhere to school policies, schedules, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
