The Part-Time Media Specialist will support the development and implementation of the school’s media and technology programs. The role involves overseeing the use of media resources and technology in the classroom, assisting teachers with integrating digital tools into instruction and helping students navigate media-related tasks. This position requires an individual with a strong background in media, technology, and library sciences, as well as a passion for supporting student learning and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media and Resource Support:
- Assist students and staff in accessing and utilizing media resources, including books, online databases, educational software, and multimedia tools.
- Maintain and organize media collections, ensuring materials are up to date and available.
- Manage digital resources, including e-books, audio/video materials, and other digital learning tools.
- Instructional Support:
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate media resources and technology into curriculum and classroom activities.
- Provide guidance to students on how to conduct research, use media resources responsibly, and create multimedia projects.
- Student Assistance:
- Help students with research, reading, and media projects, both in-person and online.
- Foster a love of reading and learning by organizing activities such as book clubs, reading challenges, or media-based projects.
- Administrative Duties:
- Assist with the circulation of media resources and technology equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of media usage, inventory, and resource checkouts.
- Help organize and supervise the media center space, ensuring it is conducive to learning and creativity.
Working Conditions:
- This position is part-time, with flexible hours to be determined based on the school’s needs.
- The Media Specialist will work in the school library/media center, classrooms, and other school spaces as required.
